Sunday, March 11th

Today's passage from the Chronological Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Deuteronomy 1-2
Today's scripture focus is Hebrews 13:1-3

1 Keep on loving each other as brothers. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it. 3 Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.

Continue to love your brothers and sisters in Christ - in humility, caring for each other more than ourselves.

Our love is not to be reserved only for fellow Christians.  Rather we are to love everyone - including strangers and even enemies. The way we love our fellow man reflects our attitude toward Christ.  (Matthew 25:31-46 - separating the sheep and the goats)

We need to show empathy, compassion and sympathy to those who are suffering.  The amazing thing is, that's it's usually in bearing each other's burdens, that our own seems to be lessened.

Tomorrow's scripture focus: Hebrews 13:4-6
Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage passage:  Deuteronomy 3-4

That is amazing, isn't it? I know it helps me to be less concerned about things that may or may not be going well in my own life when I am focusing more on doing what I can to help others.
