Wed Feb 13, 2013 -- Sandy

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, becausewe shall see him as he is.  And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
1 John 3:2-3

This is a prime example of a simple verse of two packing such hope and love!

*We are God's children now*  Even if you grew up in a delightful, wonderful home, the thought of having a Heavenly Father who cares for you....the One who created the earth and the sky!  Almost overwhelming, isn't it?

*We know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.*  Such hope for us!  Lowly sinners.  That we, a broken and sinful people, would even be able to see him, much less be like him!  That's such a wonderful beacon of hope, that I in my sin, doubt, anger, and constant battles with my flesh, should have a hope of being like him, and being with him.

*And everyone who hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.*  It begins!  It's a lifelong process, and won't ever be completed this side of heaven, but each day, each struggle, each prayer, brings us one step closer to being like him.  Being pure and holy.
