Monday, May 2nd: 1 Chronicles 23-25 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 1 Chronicles 23-25

A few thoughts from my Life Application Bible today....

Although David couldn't build the Temple, he could make preparations, and he took that job seriously. He not only gathered funds and materials for God's house but also planned much of the administration and arranged the worship services.....
A reminder that we all are given different gifts and service opportunities.  We need to use the gifts God has given us instead of being jealous of what He's given to others.

Why was this census (1 Chr 23:3) acceptable when the other was not (1 Chr 21)? This census counted only the Levites - those set apart to serve God - and was used to organize the work in the Temple. The census was not based on pride or self-sufficiency, as was the previous census of fighting men.

A good reminder that both our actions and our motives must be pure.
