Saturday, April 8th: 1 Samuel 10-12; Luke 9:37-62 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is 1 Samuel 10-12; Luke 9:37-62

Our NT passage ends with a reminder that there is a cost to following Jesus.  Indeed, at times that cost can be high.

But our OT passage ends by reminding us that it is worth it!
Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage1 Samuel 13-14; Luke 10:1-24

1 Samuel 12:12&13
And when you saw that Nahash the king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when the Lord your God was your king. 13 And now behold the king whom you have chosen, for whom you have asked; behold, the Lord has set a king over you.

The Israelites asked for and received something they didn't need, they placed great importance on something they didn't need. How often do I do this? I spend alot of time and money on many things that aren't important, yet God helps us achieve. Do I then use these things for His glory?
