Thursday, October 12th: Isaiah 39-40; Colossians 4 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Isaiah 39-40; Colossians 4

Isaiah 40:12-14
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand
or marked off the heavens with the span of his hand?
Who has gathered the dust of the earth in a measure
or weighed the mountains on a balance
and the hills on the scales?
13 Who has directed[f] the Spirit of the Lord,
or who gave him counsel?
14 Who did he consult?
Who gave him understanding
and taught him the paths of justice?
Who taught him knowledge
and showed him the way of understanding?

This section reminded me of the passage in Job where God speaks to Job, reminding him of exactly who God is.  Who are we, that this awesome God is mindful of us?  Truly His love is amazing.

Colossians 4:2 Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving.

This is something that I need to work on!  Praying more, and making sure my mind doesn't wander while doing so, and being purposeful about thankfulness.

Isaiah 40:30-31
Youths may become faint and weary,
and young men stumble and fall,
31 but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint.

A great passage to read and a reminder that we will get tired and weary on our own, but need to trust in God to get strength.
