Friday, November 10th: Jeremiah 48-49; Hebrews 7 ~ Conrad

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is: Jeremiah 48-49; Hebrews 7

"Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself."  Hebrews 7:27

Christ came to fulfill the Old Testament.  Jesus is a better revealer of truth than what God employed in the Old Testament.  Christ is better than the angels, Moses, Aaron and the Levitical priests.  His once-for-all sacrifice is better than the sacrifices of the old sanctuary.  The sacrifice of Jesus' blood offers us complete forgiveness and salvation for eternity.

Thank you Jesus for your ultimate sacrifice for us!

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage: Jeremiah 50; Hebrews 8

Nathan said...

Jeremiah 49:6
Yet afterward, I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites,”
declares the Lord.

Jeremiah 49:39
“Yet I will restore the fortunes of Elam
in days to come,”
declares the Lord

Twice we read about how the Lord will punish, but then also help heal. He wants the same for us, after sinning He wants is to come back to Him asking for forgiveness, then He will forgive and help us do better.
