Thursday, November 9th: Jeremiah 46-47; Hebrews 6 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Jeremiah 46-47; Hebrews 6

Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.

This first portion of this passage was the theme verse of our church's summer Adventure's Day Camp program.  And I love it!

Our hope is not placed in something flimsy or unsure.  Our hope is an anchor, it's firm, it's secure, it's reliable, it's strong, it's certain!

I also love how it talks about the inner sanctuary behind the curtain - the curtain that was torn the moment Jesus died on the cross, making a way for us to enter directly into the presence of God.  It's something the Israelites couldn't even imagine!  And we have that access, anytime we want it - do we use it?!

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage:   Jeremiah 48-49; Hebrews 7
