Wednesday, November 1st: Jeremiah 24-26; Titus 2 ~ Tammy

Today's passage from the Bible In a Year Reading Plan is Jeremiah 24-26; Titus 2

Titus 2: 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
A few years ago I memorized the book of Titus, and this was one of my favourite passages.  There is so much truth contained here!

It is only by God's grace that we are saved.
God's grace is offered to all people.
God's grace teaches us to say no to evil and yes to righteousness.
The world will try to sway us, but grace will provide a way out.
Though we still live in a fallen world we have a blessed hope of eternity to come.
Jesus Christ himself willingly chose to die in our place so that we could be redeemed.
Not only are we redeemed, we are also purified, and eager to do what is good!

Tomorrow's Bible In a Year Passage:  Jeremiah 27-29; Titus 3

From our reading today in Jeremiah, it's interesting to see how God gives the Israelites a chance, He could have slaughtered them all for their repetitive sinful ways, but instead gives them an opportunity to make things right again with God. What a loving God we serve, He gives us many opportunities while we're still living to turn to Him. How foolish to ignore that
